Frequently Asked Questions

General Touring Questions

1. What methods of transportation do you use during trips?

To ensure a comfortable and seamless travel experience, we primarily use 5- to 7-seater business vehicles for daily city transportation (vehicle size may vary depending on group size). For inter-provincial travel, we typically choose high-speed rail for journeys under 3 hours. If the train ride exceeds 3 hours, we opt for flights as the preferred mode of transport. The specific means of transportation for each trip can be found in the itinerary. If you have special requirements, please feel free to contact us — we will be happy to arrange the most suitable option for you.

Health & Safety Questions

1. Can I accommodate allergies and food preferences?

Yes! If you have any food allergies or specific dietary preferences, please let us know before your trip begins and your private guide will check the allergies with you before the tour. This will allow us to make the necessary arrangements with restaurants and meal providers to ensure your comfort and safety. Whether you require vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, or other customised options, we are happy to accommodate your needs.

For guests with severe allergies, we recommend consulting your doctor prior to travel and bringing any essential medications. Your health is our top priority, and advance notice helps us provide a safer and more enjoyable dining experience throughout your journey.

2. Is insurance included in the touring package, or do I need to purchase my own?

Yes. We provide travel insurance for every guest, with coverage of up to RMB 100,000. In the event of a personal accident during the tour, compensation will be handled by the insurance company in accordance with their policy terms. Guests are welcome to purchase additional insurance if they feel it is necessary for extra coverage.

Before Arrival Questions

1. How do I get a visa? What kind of visa should I get?
Most foreign travellers to China will need to apply for a tourist visa (Type L) before entering the country. We recommend starting the visa application process around 60 days prior to your departure date to allow ample time for processing.

After confirming your reservation with us, we will provide an official invitation letter to support your visa application. You can apply for a tourist visa either in person at your nearest Chinese Embassy or Consulate, or through a third-party visa agency. Please check with the Chinese Embassy in your country for the most up-to-date visa requirements, documents needed, and application procedures.

2. Can I use the 240-hour visa-free transit policy?

Yes. Travellers from 54 eligible countries may apply for China’s 240-hour visa-free transit policy under the following conditions:

a. Nationality: You must be a citizen of one of the 54 designated countries.

  • Europe (40 countries): Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Monaco, Russia, the UK, Ireland, Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Albania, Belarus, and Norway.
  • Americas (6 countries): United States, Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, and Chile.
  • Oceania (2 countries): Australia and New Zealand.
  • Asia (6 countries): South Korea, Japan, Singapore, Brunei, United Arab Emirates, and Qatar.

b. Travel documents: You must hold a valid international travel document (passport) with at least 3 months of validity and meet the entry requirements of the third country or region you are traveling to.

c. Confirmed onward ticket: You must have a confirmed, dated, and seat-assigned ticket for a connecting trip to a third country (or region) departing within 240 hours, along with supporting documentation. Upon arrival, you’ll need to complete the Temporary Entry Card for Foreigners and undergo inspection by border control.

Eligible travellers may apply for this policy upon arrival at designated ports of entry in cities such as Beijing and Shanghai, among others. The 240-hour visa-free stay is counted from 00:00 the day after entry.

3. What essential items should I prepare for the trip?

A valid travel document (such as your passport) is the most important item—please ensure you carry it with you and keep it safe at all times. In addition to daily clothing and personal items, most hotels provide disposable toothbrushes and basic toiletries. However, if you have specific brand preferences or personal care needs, we recommend bringing your own supplies to ensure comfort during your stay.

If you take prescription medications, please bring enough for the entire trip, along with a copy of your prescription or medical documentation. This will help facilitate customs inspections if required and ensure you have access to necessary treatment while abroad.

4. How should I prepare my clothing in China?

About one week before your departure, our team leader will contact you to confirm the expected weather conditions and temperatures at each destination. We will provide guidance on what clothing and travel accessories to pack—such as sunglasses, umbrellas, or seasonal layers—to help you stay comfortable throughout your journey.

5. How much cash should I bring, and what are the main payment methods in China?
Mobile payment platforms such as WeChat Pay and Alipay are widely accepted across nearly all shops, restaurants, and malls in China. Our team will provide a step-by-step guide to help you set up these apps for smooth use during your trip.

Most major credit cards (Visa, Mastercard) are accepted at hotels and large shopping centers. However, smaller shops and local markets may not support card payments.

We recommend carrying a small amount of Chinese yuan (RMB) for emergencies or places where digital payment is unavailable. If you plan to withdraw cash using an international bank card while in China, please check with your bank in advance regarding potential foreign transaction or currency conversion fees.

After Arrival Questions

1. Will I have internet access during the trip? Can I use social media like Facebook or Instagram in China?

Yes, all major hotels in large cities provide internet access, typically via free Wi-Fi. However, in rural areas, internet connectivity can be slow or unstable.

If you wish to access popular social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or any Google-related services (including Gmail), please note that these are blocked in mainland China. The easiest way to stay connected is to use international roaming through your current mobile service provider. We recommend checking with your provider before departure to understand data packages and international roaming charges.

Another option is to use a VPN (Virtual Private Network), which allows you to access restricted websites. Please make sure to purchase and install your VPN before arriving in China, as most VPN services cannot be downloaded once inside the country.
